Local Profile
High Wycombe YMCA provides supported housing for single young people aged 6-35 years in 74 self catering bedsits with shared bathroom facilities and 52 studio flats.
Working in partnership with other local agencies, the YMCA provides a programme of activities designed to support and help its residents fulfil their potential, and to learn and develop skills that enable them to move confidently on to independent living.

Additional Opportunities Available at High Wycombe YMCA
High Wycombe YMCA aims to provide accommodation with support to single young people with a variety of support needs. In addition to the accommodation is a Conference & Training centre, a small fitness suite and a Pre-School Group for 2 – 4 year olds.
The service focuses on helping disadvantaged young people aged 16-35 who are homeless or in housing need to achieve the transition from dependence to independence.
The package of support includes developing domestic/life skills social skills behaviour management; advice advocacy and liaison; help in managing finances and benefit claims; emotional support; counselling and advice; assistance in gaining access to other services; help in establishing personal safety and security; help in finding other accommodation; risk assessment and liaison with Wycombe District Council, Supporting People, Social Services, Youth Offending Services, Probation and other statutory and voluntary organisations.
Homelessness Services Available at High Wycombe YMCA
In partnership with Wycombe District Council’s Homelessness Prevention Unit, we provide a respite bed for 16-17 year olds who have left home for various reasons for a maximum stay of 28 days. The purpose is to provide these young people with a safe environment to stay in while external mediation and counselling services try to help them repair family breakdowns and encourage them to return to home. During this time they will also have a YMCA key support worker assigned to them.
